Igniting a spark that Inspires ...
Dr. Avis Sparks is a Christian writer, teacher, and speaker who seeks to build up and encourage believers in their relationship with Christ. A Spark Ministries aims to inspire others to fully embrace God's love, purpose, wisdom, and character, and to walk in them faithfully. We understand that life's influences and circumstances can erode a believer's resolve, causing us to falter and, at times, even want to give up. But the grace of God can restore and empower each of us to succeed and sustain even after failures, mistakes, and hardships.
There is encouragement and support within the Body of Christ that God has established to meet believers' needs and the needs of the world. We are here to motivate believers to walk triumphantly with the tool God has given us in Christ. Empowering one another to contribute to the Body so that those around us are supported, nurtured, and encouraged in their daily work. We want to demonstrate God's support and love through our actions and to help build and strengthen the Body by sharing the wisdom of the Word. With the grace of God, A Spark Ministries will use every venue, opportunity, and gift given to show, live, and talk about the love and grace of God.
Our Vision
We aspire to educate, equip, inspire, and nurture the people of God. This ministry is here to encourage others toward healthy spiritual and emotional lives. Motivating one another to "acts of love and good works" (Hebrews 10:24) that edify the Body of Christ and bring light into this dark world.

As ministers of the great news, we strive to walk worthy of God's great sacrifice to bring us into the right relationship with Him. We prayerfully yield ourselves to being utilized by God as agents of growth and righteous change. Our duty as part of the body of believers is not only to honor God in our lives but also to support and encourage others in their journey to do the same.
What We Believe
The Bible
We believe the Bible to be the infallible written word of God that brings understanding and guidance in this darkened world and is useful for teaching, encouraging, correcting, and training the believer in righteousness.
Jesus
We believe Jesus Christ to be the Son of God and Savior of the world and the only door to redemption, salvation, an intimate relationship with God and eligibility to eternal life with the Father.

Mankind
We believe mankind to be made in the image of God and not through means of evolution.
The Church
We believe that the church, the Body of Christ is here to honor God and be a testament of His love and wisdom.
The God-head
We believe that there is one God in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

Redemption
We believe in the redemptive work of Christ on the cross and that His righteousness has been attributed to those who believe in Him.
Sin
We believe that all humanity has sinned, excluding Christ and are in need of His redemptive work in their lives.​
Purpose
We believe that God empowers the believer with gifts, skills, and opportunity to fulfill their divine purpose of an intimate relationship with Him and honoring Him through relationship with others.
Creation
We believe God to be the designer and creator of all things in the heavens and on earth. We believe Him to all-powerful, all-knowing, and ever-present.

The Holy Spirit
We believe in the redemptive work of Christ on the cross and that His righteousness has been attributed to those who believe in Him.
The Bible

The Adversary
We also believe the adversary, Satan, is a liar and deceiver who tries to steal, kill, and destroy mankind, but is limited in his power and is only another creation of God that is subject to His will and authority.
Meet Avis
Dr. Avis Sparks, a native Mississippian, has loved good stories since childhood, and that love has developed into a passion for writing. Her pastime of writing in a journal evolved into poetry, inspirational writing, and devotionals. She previously authored the book “Healing the Body of Christ: Embracing Abundant Life” and a study guide. Avis holds a PhD in Biomedical Sciences and an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and, over the years, has never set aside her love for words and her desire to encourage and inspire others in their walk with Christ. Avis founded
A Spark Ministries in 2019 as a platform to encourage others on their spiritual journey and to support active social programs that positively impact lives.
Meet Kendrick
In his youth, Dr. Kendrick Sparks was introduced to Christ our Lord through family. Like many others, Kendrick’s parents were very devout Christians and instilled within him the character of Christ and the wisdom to trust in Him. As a young adult, Kendrick came to know Christ for himself, understood the depths of His love, and was inspired to show it in ways he believed Christ had led him. He began practicing medicine, the first of several ministries in his journey, and has looked to Christ for guidance in this. Now he and Avis share a family, and he desires to minister to others by sharing their knowledge of God, so others may also be encouraged to receive God's love and guidance.​​
Kendrick earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He obtained his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. His Internal Medicine Residency was completed at the University of Louisiana Health Science Center. He is presently practicing Internal Medicine in Mississippi and believes that educating patient is important to supporting their health beyond the walls of the hospital. He also believes that educating believers in the Body of Christ is important for supporting their holistic health as they journey through this life.
