Repentance is the act of renouncing the chains that drag and try to bind us to death and darkness. Light, the Word of God, Jesus Christ has arrived, calling us to repent of our idols and activities that have drawn us from the presence of the Lord. Let us be more than remorseful and confess, let us do a 180 and turn away from those mindsets, activities, and atmospheres that have caused us to set aside our hunger and thirst for the presence of God's righteousness in our lives.

God is merciful to us; He does not leave us in ignorance, rather it is willful or the lack of understanding. He warns us because He loves us. We must pick out the spoiled apples in our lives and take care of this precious life God has given, so that we can flourish as He has intended.

We must explore the tension between who we were in darkness and who we are now called to be in the light, so that we do not allow the darkness to invade our days. Jesus expressly reveals that He is the Light and that when we walk in Him, we will not walk in darkness but will instead experience the beauty of His light in our lives.

God is calling us to consider our ways, realign ourselves, and see the importance of cultivating a relationship with Him in operating in the Spirit so that we remain in Him and stay fruitful.

God has so much He wants to reveal to us and talk to us about through His Spirit. However, we cannot hear, see, or experience what God saying and preparing if we are asleep to the Spirit. We can only see and understand the things of God when we are awake to His Spirit.

We must be humble in seeking God so that our hearts can understand who we are through God’s perspective. God knows us better than we know ourselves. As we ask God to search us, we seek a true understanding of who we are and where we stand, so that we can set aside the things hindering our walk with Him toward everlasting.

It is important to realign as we go through this life, being tossed and driven. And we do that in prayer. It is to help us regain focus and motivation, ensure we are headed in the right direction, and, most importantly, stay connected to God, our source, in all situations.
