Repressed

Repressed

Repressed, you say.

Voices of what others think has pushed and pulled you. They nagged and dragged you until you decided there has to be another way.

A voice rises up in you that sounds like vindication but is marred with hurt and pain.

Infused with rebellion, yelling, “Who cares if others think I am saved?”

You have begun to muffle the voice of truth, and your focus has diverted its gaze from the One who truly loves you.

You have now chosen to disregard the truth

The truth that sets you free from the darkness of this world

The truth that broke the chains of your mind and gave you peace

The truth that secured your joy and victory.

You have decided to lay it down

Now Christianity is just so repressive all the standards, and people are so depressive

Why did I deal with it so long, the hypocrites the nagging all of it is just so wrong

This is the song that plays on repeat in your head,

These are the lyrics that have caused you to waver

These words have led you to throw in the towel and say I need a liberator.

Who will speak to this anger, pain, and disappointment inside?

Who will say it is wrong and an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth is right?

No longer do You look to seek God’s Kingdom and fellowship in God’s love

but only see the toothpick in other people’s eyes

Viewing them with the same hypocrisy and opinion you said was too much

You have forgone to pray for them with the Father's love

Instead, you are blinded by the telephone pole of judgment you have placed in your own eye.

No longer can you decern what is too much or too little, only what feels good right now.

You have stopped talking to God and asking Him to show you How.

No longer is kingdom work your joy now, it is only a repressive awful choir

Don’t call me, Don’t talk to me, Don’t tell me what to do

I have been liberated. I will choose.

Repressed you say

Rather than seeing the open field with the blessing and grace of God

filled with the loving and growing people of God instead, you have chosen to harden your heart because people are just too much.

You hit as the lock, the lock that keeps closed the gate that guards your heart and mind.

You beat at the gate telling you to let you go free

Not realizing it is just God’s arms pleading with you trying to keep you under His wings.

You have been deceived.

The fence was not built to repress you but to show you the boundaries for victory.

Victory does not come without a fight

And Yes, you are in one right, and don’t give up.

To win one, You need to stop and receive God’s love.

Realize that God’s truth is your weapon, those standards and boundaries your protection, and those people are not your true enemy.

You have been warring all this time in your mind. Don’t continue to listen to the devil's lies. Life is hard, and people are too, but God never has and will never forsake you.

Do not walk away from his protective wings.

Do not listen to negative and down-right deceptive things.

Gaslighting blindsiding you, confusing you about your beliefs.

Grab ahold of God’s truth, and don’t let it go.

When it’s too much, do not run away from His arms but hide in His love

Stay in His presence. Don’t try and go it alone.

Don’t get so weary that you start listening to the enemy’s song.

Christ has already freed you and will show you the way,

Reject all those other voices

Even if it sounds like yours. Don’t listen, and don’t be swayed

Only heed God’s voice when He says, “This is the way.”

Repressed, Repressed you say Okay, then

Go to God, my friend

Don’t try to handle it in some other kind of way.

Instead, listen to what God has to say.

Word of Encourage

Life is hard, and so is handling difficult people. However, we must not let our frustrations and disappointment cause us to look elsewhere for direction and comfort. Diverting our eyes from God will have us walking down “liberating” roads that lead to bondage, deception, and darkness.

Verses

Hebrews 12:1-2 (NLT)“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. 2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.

Psalm 91:4 (NLT) “He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.

Deuteronomy 4:9 (NIV) Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live.
